When MW4 multiplayer starts
October 23, 2026 at midnight local time on every platform. Campaign early access for digital pre-orders began October 16 and DMZ early access on October 20, but Multiplayer stays locked until launch day. Because it unlocks by time zone, players in New Zealand get in first.
MW4 DMZ early access
DMZ early access opened on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. PT (1:00 p.m. ET / 17:00 UTC / 01:00 October 21 UTC+8) — one global start time, not a rolling regional unlock. It is included with any digital pre-order, Standard Edition too, so you do not need a pricier edition. Install the pre-launch update first. Everyone else gets DMZ at the full launch on October 23.
MW4 multiplayer maps and modes
12 core 6v6 maps, dedicated Gunfight maps and large-scale maps for vehicle and infantry combat. New mode Kill Block takes place in a live-fire training facility that reconfigures between rounds. Classic modes like Hardpoint, Search and Destroy and Domination return.
Platforms, price and Game Pass
PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam, Battle.net, Xbox app) and Nintendo Switch 2 — not PS4 or Xbox One. Standard Edition $69.99, Vault Edition $99.99. It is not on Game Pass at launch, and console players need an online subscription (PlayStation Plus or Game Pass Essential and up) for Multiplayer and DMZ.
