How to play Dragonkind
1. Go to dragonkind.com and create an account with your email. 2. You are sorted into a wing, section and squad (for example First Wing, Claw Section, Third Squad). 3. Press “Brave Threshing” and enter the Threshing Valley. 4. Make your choices until a dragon decides you are worthy and bonds you.
Dragon bonding in Dragonkind: what you get
When a dragon bonds you, your result card shows its name, color, tail type (swordtail, clubtail, daggertail and so on), sex, age and lineage. The six colors: red (quick to anger), green (rational, patient), orange (hard to predict), brown (wants you steady), blue (fierce, hard to impress) and black (sharp and watchful). Identical choices can end in a bond for one player and a burn for another — there is a random element.
Why you keep dying in Dragonkind
Just like in the books, Threshing can kill you. Players report being burned three or four times before a dragon bonds them. After each death the site locks you out for about 4 hours — the countdown shows in the Rotunda — so keep coming back.
Dragonkind and the Empyrean books
Dragonkind is set in the world of The Empyrean series (Fourth Wing, Iron Flame, Onyx Storm). The Threshing is the day dragons choose their riders; the Threshing Day collection (Book 3.5) tells thirteen characters’ Threshing stories.
